This policy explains what data MatchDirector and Competitive Metrics LLC collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. We've written it in plain language on purpose.
What Data We Collect
We collect the minimum necessary to operate the platform:
• Email address — when you sign up or submit a contact or lead capture form
• Stage designs — the stages you create and save in the platform
• Analytics events — page views and interaction events via Vercel Analytics (no personal identifiers, no cookies)
• UTM parameters — campaign source data if you arrive via a tracked link, used only for internal marketing analysis
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to operate and improve MatchDirector:
• Providing access to your stage designs across sessions and devices
• Sending product updates and new feature announcements (email only, with unsubscribe)
• Analyzing aggregate usage patterns to guide feature development
• Understanding how match directors use the platform to improve workflows
No Third-Party Advertising — Ever
We do not run advertising on MatchDirector. We do not share your data with advertising networks, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes. Your email will never appear in a retargeting campaign.
No Sale of Personal Data — Ever
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. This is not a loophole-laden promise — we mean it in the plain sense. Your data stays with us and is used only to operate and improve this platform.
Analytics
MatchDirector uses Vercel Analytics for usage tracking. Vercel Analytics is privacy-first by design: no cookies, no persistent identifiers, no cross-site tracking, and GDPR compliant out of the box. We see aggregate numbers — not individual user behavior.
Data Retention
• Stage designs are retained indefinitely while your account is active, so your work is always there when you need it
• Analytics events are retained for 2 years then automatically purged
• Email addresses are retained until you request deletion
Your Rights
You can request a copy of all data we hold about you, or request complete deletion of your account and associated data. To make a request, email us at hello@competitivemetrics.io with the subject line "Data Request". We will respond within 5 business days.
